Prop choice for an XR2 200

Looking for a prop for our new motor (XR2 200). Have been told that a 21" laser 2 would be a good option.

Have seen this on Ebay though and wondered if it might be suitable (26" cleaver over hub).

Never run with a cleaver before so im not sure what they are like. I am familiar with chopper props and know that the hole shot is v poor but the top end is better.

Is it the same with cleavers and does the fact that its a 4 blade make the hole shot better?

Cheers

Al

A cleaver will try to lift the arse and so may be the answer if you had two XR2's on the back. My guess would be a chopper (bow lifting) in the 22"/24" range. My experience of a Laser II on a Ring was not good when trying to pull a skier but it might work for you depending on your use. ET's work and so might a Yam. I thought a Trophy should have worked but was crap!

I think the first place to start with is the gear ratio - you should have either a 2:1 or a 1.87:1 box with an XR2.

By the way a 26" would be too big!
