prop suggestions for a ring 18

as the post suggests
i hopefully bolt mr robs promax to the back of my boat next week
currently my prop collection consists of a 19" lazer and a borrowed 20" lazer small hub, so im also going to need a prop before i take it out
the engine is due to be run quite high, but im running twin cable ride glide to cant take it too high
been suggested to try a 22" chopper and then have the blades flatened slightly
any help would be greatly apreciated

I have a mirror polished 14x24 chopper for £200 if you're interested in that?

well ive just been very kindly been offered to try a chop 22" by a BM member, so will see how that goes,
but yes if might well be intrested if it doesnt perform on the 22"
just thouht 26 seemed a bit high and bein a ring owner yourself didnt know if there was any particualr reason, past experience, etc, that a tall prop worked well on my kinda setup

Yes, twenty-five years ago I bought a new 18 from Mike built to take an Evinrude 235 and go ski-racing. It was rigged by Dave Brockington and at the time the 26 chopper was the prop. I think Ring hulls still work very well with over the hub props. The answer is always to beg, borrow as many props of as many sizes and designs as possible. Make sure you're rev counter and GPS are good and find somewhere reliably flat. When you get some possibles make sure you pull a skier with all of them. A very heavy ex-twin Ring 21 at the Stone club worked very well with a 22 chopper on a Merc 2.5 200 suggesting you need more pitch with an 18 and a 225.
