mmmh

what RPM

think you would burn 18 gall hr flat out so I'd guess around 12 gall hr +/- for cruise which would ballpark around 120 mile with no reserves if calm . Think you should have a run with it first and calculate out what you are actually using. then go from there. You really need to build in a reserve for the oh sh*t factor.

I was thinking of taking a trip from weymouth to Cowes. which is about 46miles. I guessed about 110-120miles. I have a 120ltr tank and a 20ltr jerry can (140ltr) I figured I would make it the Cowes but I was worried about coming back. But I guess I can always run from the marina to a petrol station and refil my jerry can with another 20ltrs. or make 2 trips for 40ltrs. But having said that I should make it back on what I started with technically. Think I might just venture as for a Lulworth Cove.

Fuel at Lymington & the IOW so no problem 4 u.
If you go into Lulworth Keep to the RH side through the gap entrance. Then come to the left dont hug the RH side in the cove as there is a ledge. Drop a hook as they get all shitty if you pick up a mooring. Kimmeridge Bay is alright but there aint nothing there. I'd run along to swanage then shoot for the needles which should be easily visable, depending on the viz, with ref to prev nav posts keep a good land contact. Depending on conditions note the following.
Backwash off the cliffs & tide races at Pevril, Old Harry & the Shingle Bank can make the water stand up a little.
I run from Mudeford to Lulworth in the Rxx but it needs to be a nice day as it's only just 11' kids hate it on a bad day.....mmmh so do I.

Not sure if you're aware that the BT Global Challenge yachts start arriving back in the Solent on Saturday so it's likely to get busy. Whether they approach Portsmouth from the West or East is dependent on weather. Check out this LNTM: http://www.globalchallenge2004.com/e.../Lntm35_05.pdf

If we see you we'll give you a wave!

They had the beach run out thing there last weekend but seemed to keep people off it and they were poping into the water to go ashore from the beach. was very much a "it's mine and you cant use it" - well gimme some cash & you can.

I plan on having a splash about in the bay 1st. But I had the engine from TheMutzNutz and I am confident they didnt screw me over with a dodgy engine. So I will be going for it. My mate is coming in my other boat should anything happen.
But shit happens!

Who Martin Davies? I PMed him but never got any info back from him. I would really love to hear about its racing history. I was going to completely respray the boat but I am changing my mind about it as its got a good racing history. I am going to have to restore the original paint job as the guy who had it before me left in uncovered on his drive and the paint is very worse for wear!
I will be setting of from weymouth and heading to Lulworth Cove.
Tag along if you want.
