Removing phantom deck

I have some damage on a phantom deck along with transom replacement which is going to require the deck to be removed. I've had the decks off early Rings before many years ago, is it the same process of removing the rubbing strip and any rivets, cutting the glass around the join on the inside and lifting off?

Any tips?
