Have you checked that you are getting full throttle? Move the throttle linkage at the carbs to the maximum travel of the cable and with it held at maximum, see if the linkage will travel further.

Argo 17 and a P16 are a bit different, are the engines the same hight? have you got a lot of weight up front, and did you trim it out enough?

im pretty sure mine is slightly higher than my friends p16, it was the 1 that was racing in the ocr finals with us in it. I was trimmed out on 3 so that the boat ran flat and it was keeping up with the p16 just thought i might need some more revs. Iv checked all the throttles and am getting full throttle.

argo
w record Windermere no 3433 19.10.99 60.43mph. Argo 17 90 yam 22yam prop. In enduro lapped fastest P16 every hour, 3 times! dont need to run it too flat, get it loose and nail it ! same in big seas expect some pain though.
enjoy.

argo
We would run about 15kg ballast just forward of the footplates, personally I would only run cable steering in the little Argo you really need the feel through the wheel hydraulic steering will have you tits up in no time if you run it fast and trimmed up a little trim it till it starts to shake its nose and bring it back a touch. We got the record in the same trim as we raced it fuel tank full back in flatish conditions and as far forward as poss in the rough,if you have the balls it is a match for almost anything in the rough, but it will hurt you.
Cheers. Is it Ed Bashams old boat that was bought by Matt Webb?

im running cable steering on the argo, and i like the fell of it, you can tell what the boat is doing. Iv got no ballast in the front and the fuel tank is mid point in the back of the boat. I might try some ballast in the front. Havnt tried a 22 yam prop yet but i know someone who has one so might give that a go. Yh it was thats the boat iv got, matt webbs old boat. Really nice boat to drive. Have gone through a fair chop in it, trimmed on 3 and just poped over the top with no worries poped over the bo
