Ring 18 Splashwell question

I have a Ring 18 running an XR2 and have raised the transom clamp so the centre of the cle is approx 2 cm below the lowest point of the hull. In doing so the transom clamp has completely covered my Splashwell drain hole. My question is, do I redrill the hole or just leave it plugged? As not a great deal of water even enters the Splashwell even if shutting off the power suddenly.

Any advice welcome

What part of the saddle is covering the drain? Got a pic?
I wouldn't drill another hole in the transom unless you sleeve it. Although it's probably waterlogged anyway.

I'll take some pics later of it but it the centre of the transoms plate between the two clamps. The transoms solid and only has the one manufactures drain hole in the centre so no leaks into the actual transom itself. I am also reluctant to drill another hence wondering if I need to. As I said the splashwell rarely get any water in it if any. Thanks for reply though
