Rotten Yanmars

I will start this with a short message but with more to come later,

1 pair of 1 year old yanmar 4lhadtp 200's
so far
ex manifold gasket failed.
2x stop relay
seized turbo
and today, oil cooler corroded through!!

So I have almost identical coolers on 3 other boats ranging from 10 to 15 yrs old,

Question, where is the stray current?
There has to be something wrong from new to cause this

If any of you have any experience i would be too hapy to know any ideas

Thanks
Rama

Well I don't have an answer to you problem but my Volvo is deliberately not connected to negative. The engine is connected to the drive but otherwise it is isolated. This is not my doing but Volvo's design. It goes against most advice that I've seen about grounding but they've plainly done their homework. There is even a ground relay which connects only during engine stop to link the the diesel pump shut off solenoid.

Food for thought.
