this one.
I'm not too sure of the orogins of the boat design, but the foot throttle set-up looks quite similar to a Phantom

Thats the 1. have u seen it over last 18 mths?
I was 1st owner. U will be sorry to hear it is a Chaudron. Person I sold it too took the Chaudron graphics off at the same time as never paying me the £500 promissed. Oh well thats life!
Foot throttle was made by Pete of Marlin Marine of Exeter in 1989
when I bought the 1st Marlin Mirage 22 (prototype).
Just interested to know how boat & engine are running.
Cheers & thanks for reply

T in C or not...thanks
When boat was new it had thin beds up sides from side to stingers & good adult bed in centre. So Ok for 2 small kids & 1 adult, obviously head room very restrictive. Cabin door has been added since I had it. All I had in cabin was stereo & fans as I had the boat in florida for 2 yrs.
I had Bob machine shop (florida) do gear box (low water pick up racing cone) & had a friend at Travis Marine (fl) re-chip ecu.
Was a real fast boat, but had a nasty habit of stuffing in 6ft seas
if u were going under 40mph. Fine if u were going 60+mph, but I had young kids, so when I bought it back to UK it was rather impracticle for my situation. Was better if you ran 80 gallon fuel tank full. Tank ran from bildge to front of front seats in between
main stringers.
For your info. Ran it without 18inch gill bracket & lost 8 mph. Used
Tempest prop, forget size & pitch, but 7 mph better than Mirage that came with engine.
Thanks

could it really have gone THAT much over 60 with 250ish HP?
I'm not sure as i'm very much learning, but it seems the secret to not getting wet is too keep it nailed!

U have read my previous postings, I'm not going into the mph argument. In dead flat water only ever got 65mph on gps.
However, and I still find it difficult to believe now on garmin3+ accross sarrasota bay in 5 ft sea, gps read 79.4 mph achieved.
As stated in previous posting I was totally pissed+, but we saved gps reading & had 2 whitnesses. Maybe GPS had hicup or there was a strong current running down the bay, who knows!! If I were u or had not seen it I would not believe it. I am no macho speed freak, hence I have the smallest power units fitted to a 33.
60mph is plenty fast enough for me in my old age.
As for driving faster & not getting wet.....my kids & wife at the time were not at all impressed at going fast in rough seas.
Cheers

checkout 'chaosmobile' & 'chaos blasts around @ cowes' threads in powerboat gallery.
two way average speed is 61 mph.
I boat in the blackwater in essex, according to the rufty-tufty lot on the sarf coast its always flat on the estuary............& about @ my driving level.

Kinfast, are you on the grogg? I've no idea what the 1st part of your message is a reference too?
My boat was built by trios (whom bought the moulds and rights from SB). Thanks for the positive comments. Engine is totally mint. practically brand new , I was just over protective 1st time out. purrs like a content cat.
file too big to email. I think server is down. I'll ask the resident IT wizz to sort it on his return.
