serious Question (not taking the piss)

I don't know enough about hull designs to answer this question myself

what hard boat hull would convert into a rib say seven metres long. one would want performance and stabilty if possible defaulting towards stability

Just part of my learning process really, I am beginning to get an overall idea of what hull designs actually do and was wondering what views this August forum held.

Don't worry I am not about to start to start splaShing

Personally, I think the mistake people make is by not having the tubes touch the water at rest, I have no idea if people design them with the tubes seveal inches out of the water or it's a cockup, but to me it defeats part of the object of putting tubes on a boat in the first place! I believe most if not all hulls could be turned into RIBs, and if it's already a good hard boat hull, it will carry it's qualities over into a tubed version, so in my very humble opinion it is hull shapes on all boats regardless of whether or not they are tubed that matters.

They did all sorts, I think the current rib is based on a 21, although they have the moulds now for the 30' cruiser, and I understand there talk of a rib derivitive.
