side steering plates build

Hi all, almost finished the design of plates type IMCO in 304L (low carbon 304) for mercury 3.0 & 3.2, some finishes to do again, 10 hours of polishing
Imco specifications are SS 304 for the plates for information.
Latham and marien machine use 316.
Can be made in 316TI , the material price need to be multiplied by ~ 1.4
Bolts are metric M10 instead of 3/8UNC
This job was interesting to do, from the measurements to CAO transfert, to dxf to the final parts ready for assembly. The grinding and polishing is a pretty long operation coming from SS304 hot laminate plates, and still perfectible on mines.
the goal was a perfect adjustment of plates to gasket pattern of course
Next ones I'll make some mods on it.

Are you sure the front 2 bolt holes fit the leg. I know there is a cutout but it looks tight.

Well spotted! In fact I've added some material to make a nicer curve, but only 2mm and outside the mid section cutout (see picture) . I'm working on other shapes too...
