Stress on transom from 9" setback?

Hi all,

Due to the 'design' of the back of my cat, i'll have to use 9" of setback (given by 4" bracket and 5" lifter) to fit the engines to the back.

James

IIRC it never ran with any setback, so why would you want to now.

my thoughts are the transom change may make it difficult to repower with an inboard if you or the next owner were inclined.

And if you are worried about the transom just reinforce it with some of that 2x4 you took out

That's a different slant on it then!

Inboard definately isn't an option! I've cut the back off today and started to remake things, it'll be for the best. Had a chat with a friend in the know and we decided it's the best route. Gonna ruin my chances of being in mid may though
Wish i'd bought an extreme or something too now!

James

I hope your decision isn't going to affect the weather...

Actually, sods law should mean its glorious weather right until you get the boat ready!
