Superspeed spares

Can you still buy spares for superspeed axles? I need a new drum/hub/bearing assembly, but not sure where to go to get bits, or whether all different manfr's hub units are interchangeable, or what.
Many Thanks
M

Matt,

Superspeed is the name of the trailer manufacturer I think. Mine was anyway out of Colchester.

Mine is ALKO axles hubs brakes and bearings.

Check out the parts for ALKO on

http://www.western-towing.co.uk/acat...ant_Axles.html

and I bet you find the bits you need.

Assuming you do you can then cheat further by matching the bearings with, I seem to remember, a volkswagen van and get them half the price.

The whole lot can come off, just let them(indespension)know the shaft diameter and slide a new one on,ive just gave them an alloy wheel off my disco and they fabricated me 4 drums to suit as a stock landy drum had different pitch, found matt lawrence very helpful,360 quid for two pairs of suspension units, hubs, brakes, bearings and cables, yours will be cheaper as youve already got the suspension units.

indespension hub unit

Hi Dowdy
Please dont think im being a nosey t**t but do you have a trade account with indespension? i rang them today and spoke to Lawrence - nice guy and very helpful - he informs me that they have complete hub units that i can bolt onto my trailer but come back to me with a price of £600.00 for all four units. Reading your previous thread i see you got yours for £360.00 unless i have read it wrong?
Regards
Ray

The last twin axle Superspeed trailer I did bearings on ran the same bearing as mk2 Golf GTi rears. £15.00 the lot from local motor factors rather than £80.00 from the local trailer specialists.

Hope this helps.
This is where i get mine from, i would strongly recommend bearing buddies too saves you taking bearings out to pack them in grease.

Hi Dowdy
If only i knew this at the beginning of the year you could have built me a new one but as ive had it stripped, regalvanized and powder coated i may as well finish it now.

Parts i still require are complete suspension unit including hubs, bearings, shoes and cables. I need these with a p.c.d of 4x100 to match the alloys i have just bought for it. Also need tow hitch for the front - this bolts around a beam of about 1000mm square, i will have to measure it to be exact. Mudguards although i think i will have to have these made because the original wheels i had were 12'' and the new alloys are 17'' with a wider tyre. If you could supply any of the above id be immensly grateful - i can collect and pay cash.

Kind regards
Ray

Going there next friday for some axles for a box trailer im making, let me know exactly what you want,1000mm isnt right, drawbar usually sits over 80mm/3inch square box section,or bolts flat on to a triangular frame, mudguards, had same prob myself,18inch disco alloys with 285/55/18 tyres on,made tandem mudguards from 1/8 ally chequer plate with a 2inch flange down all round front and back,i can stand on them (201/2 stone) now with no bending in middle, make you a pair if you want,am at the end of shrewsbury by-pass,near Knockin,1 hours drive from spaghetti if you want to have a look and bring your dimensions or a drawing.

Hi Dowdy
You're right about it sitting on a beam so you're more than likely right about the measuements too. I have the original tow hitch which i will bring with me for you to have a look at. The mudguards also sound just like what im looking for as my sons use them for stepping on to get into the boat. I could pop over this weekend if you're free? You can give me a ring (il send you my number by pm) or if you want send me your number and ill call you?

Thanks for all your help
Ray

So Matt did you work out yet that your Superspeed trailer has Alko axles and that this advert for Indespension is of no use to you?
