surface drives and rudders
at CTC I noticed several different surface drives, some had fixed shafts with rudders to steer(trimax for eg), some had a skeg on the bottom of a shaft on a UJ??, some had something inbetween.
In terms of handling, at speed and close quarters, would the ruddered drives out perform, in terms of grip and turns than the ones with the token skeg???
To me it makes sense, if a boat has little drive in water, it donest have much grip, and handling, or steerage while taking off or landing, but with a rudder it must be better yes?? Any disadvantages?
