tacho setting???
Can anyone help?
On installing the tacho for my xr2 the instructions say for all 2 stroke outboards above 40hp the setting should be on 4 (pulses per rev)
Surely on a v6 shouldn't the setting be on 6?
Any help appreciated!

From memory there are 4 settings on the back of a Merc tacho. 1-3 are for sterndrive motors, 4, 6 and 8 cylinder, position 4 is for 12 pole outboards....
Might be wrong though as my memory aint what it was!

tacho
On the back It's got 2c 3c 4c & 6c. Please tell me the "c" stands for cylinder, it would make life so much less complicated!

I was abit stressed the first time i sat the settings on my Livorsi-tach and sat it to 3-pulse V6...the gauge didnt take any damage from doing this...later found out about the 6pulse V6-worked perfect..
So I think your gauge will survive a test with "6c"
