Temp Gauge 225 ProMax

I cant get the temp gauge to work on my 225 promax.
I know the ingnition live and ground are ok as the needle drops when I turn the key.
But I never get a reading from it. Its a new gauge, teleflex driftwood. So I dont know what the crack is.
I have run a direct line from the temp gauge sender to the gauge itself with no results. I have disconnected the sensors while running and there is a change in the sound and running of the engine so I know they are working.
Any ideas?

Rob.
