Test props

Has anyone had any experience in using them and what situations were they used in, to what effect?

They cost a lot of money. Are they worth it?

Yes I use them all the time. They are extremely useful for simulating the load of the prop without generating the forward thrust. Very good for fault finding under load without leaving the dock. Break In etc.

Thanks for the info, do you need different test props for different applications or are are fairly flexable. (1 size for 50-100hp, another size for 100-200.)?
Are there any websites i can buy them off?

umm a Dyno, i may also have to make a visit and find out what figures i can get with my new purchase!
