Trim Gauge Confusion

Hi Folks,

I'm having trouble getting my trim gauge working, wondered if the experts could help!

The gauge is a VDO trim/tilt gauge wired up to the Mariner 150 switch thing on the tilt/trim. The gauge definitely has power, the earths at both ends seem okay but the gauge is always stuck on fully 'UP'. I have tried two different gauges and both do the same, have measured the resistance on the trim switch and it does vary as the engine is trimmed up / down, not a lot though (i'm not an expert at this, i assume this is how to test the switch?).

Anyone have any ideas?
Is it possible the VDO gauge isnt compatible with the trim switch?
I couldnt find any way of calibrating it so i assume this doesnt need to be done?

I'm totally confused at this point, spent ages trying to get the thing workin!

Thanks
Dave

I think you'll find that a vdo gauge isn't compatible with a merc!

Doh !

Do you know which gauge might work?
Will be a shame to have one gauge look different to the others
