trim pipes

as i trim my engine up the seastar steering catches on the two trim pipes that come out of the clamps just below the tilt tube. i would normally just bend them down but then they jam inbetween the the transom and the clamps as i trim my jack plate down. how can i get round this ?

3 options.

1. cut your transom down
2. dont jack down so far
3. change hoses for the ones from a short shaft which are flexible and can be routed elsewhere to avoid being crushed

You could fit limiters to stop the jack going down so far or move the motor up a hole on the lift.
