Question Trim tab positioning

Does anyone have any technical knowledge on the positioning of trim tabs?
Should they be mounted horizontally or at the angle of the v?
Cheers

yes but no but, if you mount them the same as the angle of the hull yes they will work betterer and more efficiently but you will find that they will also steer the boat with the length of you tabs IMHO i would mount them horizontaly like mine as it doesnt effect steering but you need the longer tab to achieve the same as mounting them with the hull, hope this makes sense as its late on, on a friday nighty

Have a look on Offshore only nearly every boat there has a pic of the tabs.
It will answer your question

Me.. Always with the hull, more effective & correct for it with that round thing fitted in front of the driver.

I asked the same qusetion a few months ago. Cant remember who it was from but some one pointed out the obvious that if the tabs are mounted in line with the hull the hole face makes contact with the water BUT if the tabs are lined up horizontally its mostly the out side edge that makes contact.
If it makes any odds the tabs on hotshot are in line with the V not horizontally.
