Volvo AQ271c V8 exhaust

Does anyone know if there is a kit that converts the exhaust system to a transom exit? there is a boat in our yard with 2x volvo 5.7gxi's that have "Nova performance" kits on with solenoids that go through prop or through transom. I am just after straight out the transom? any ideas or has any one done it?

Hi
I fitted a load of Volvo V8s in the early 90s and they were available with the Volvo's Transom Exhaust System, the exhaust outlet Y that bolts onto inside of the Transom Shield was removed and a blanking plate fitted, the Large Stainless tubular baffle fabrication was then installed running across the rear of the block after cutting out the Exhaust holes into the Transom and connected by 4 exhaust hoses . They did sound really good when running but I think certain Marinas had issues with the noise .

Whether they are still available is another question !!!!

I know that Looe engineering had one knocking about for some years in their Plymouth ( Mayflower Marina) shop, and they may still have it laying around the workshops somewhere !!

If you just want straight out then you can get a blanking plate to go onto the shield where the exhaust horn bolts on trouble is your have to take the motor out to remove the Horn and fit the blanker! You can get some transom fittings made up or might be able to buy some off the shelve just ensure the have one way flaps on!

The engine is out at the mo so thats not an issue, the manifolds are off to check water ways so I thought it would be ideal oppertunity to see about doing it now. thanks for your replys.
