Water Pressure again...

i know it was discussed several times here and at the SandF board, but nobody has written about my problem.

at the first time out my pressure gauge was reading 5 to 15 psi at half speed and also full speed .
it was changing all the time every 10 to 30 seconds or so,
mostly it had 12 then again 5 and sometimes 15 and so on.

is that normal, because of the switching thermostats in the heads or the popped valve?

first time i thought that the low reading came from full up trim, but same happens at full down trim.

i am new to mercs
thanks for ya help

Have you changed the Impellor since buying the engine?

nope gaZ, what do you think ? shifting between pressure readings isn't normal at full trim down and at steady 4000 rpm's .

do you know this engine from the pre owner Chris Wreford ?

the engine is in a clean condition for his age(around 89), has 130 comp an all 6 and runs real well , i am really happy with that.
you never know what you get for your bucks

just starting to get the knowledge about v6 outboards and there behavior.
next winter i will remove the lower to change impeller ,thermostat's, plug wires and remove the power head to change to solid motor mounts and if there is some money left ,ALIEN COWL !!

one lower motor mount is a rubber soft one and one is the hard plastic/polyurethane one ,that's not good and the upper are really soft and that's not good for a good feeling at high speed in the steering wheel.

thanks
