Water PSI

Since I changed the mid section (now OS) and box (cle) I dont get a water PSI reading on tick over, and have to go to reasonable revs to get anyting from the tell tail. Is this normal, when I`m up and running all is fine ie water pressure on the gauge and water coming through the tell tail.
