Question Whats the best hydraulic steering

Just shopping at the moment and wanting to get some feedback.
Open to opinions. I have used seastar pro before and thought it was very good. But what do you powerboaters think is the best?

Personally I have always been happy with Latham.

Never had any problems with sea star Pro.
I guess it may depend on your outfit.

I've driven 1400 Modified Production as well as Pro Fuel single engine boats and the Sea Star Pro has always been flawless..

Anyone running IMCO, Mayfair or Latham will almost certainly be using a Capilano helm.

That's racing on a pond/river though isn't it? Ever been out in a big sea?

I tried the Capilano - Mayfair and could not get on with it so changed the helm for std Seastar (NOT PRO) with mayfair Cylinder and it was 100% better.

Everyone to their own !!

I have Capilano with Mayfair on the Spectre, but when I had single o/b ski boats I always reckoned a well set up double ride guide type of steering took some beating.

doubt if the sea star helm pumps enough fluid for a twin ram setup, it'll be like 8 turns lock to lock

edit: does a sea star helm even work with an unbalanced setup??

Correct it probably wont work on dual rams but then no one mentioned twins !! The Pro wont work on the unbalanced ram but the std one will and its loads better than the Capilano !!

For what reason? I haven't tried one on my twin installation, but I do like the adjustment on my Capilano.

Its much easier to steer as it takes away that very "Damped" effect you get with capilano Helm !!
Not much good for your twin rams though !!
