Where should I put the trim tab
I want to get some tabs for my 21C (used for leisure)
Wherabouts should they go precisely?
What angle should they be at?
what size should I get?. I'm thinking 9" wide by 9or 12 " long. The space available is 12" wide due to the ballast pick-up".
Worldy advice please?

the bigger they are the more effect they will have for less movement, personal preference for angle, horizontal will have less effect but still drive straight, at an angle more effect but will steer the boat.

Still not done the tabs - I always spend a long time thinking about things before I do them. I have done some research regarding which system to buy. I can't believe how expensive the electric systems were proving to be.
I want a system with indicators on the dash. a Lectrotab 9x9 system best UK price is £510 (without indicators) or a 9 wid x 12 long with electronic indicators is £690!!!! Lenco are not much cheaper £651 or £609.
On the other hand, some internet searches are coming in at around £400 for a set of Bennett Sport tabs.
M80 (8W X 10L) seem a little small whereas M120 (10W x 12L) would perform better but wouold be a bit of a squeeze in the available space. Suggestions????
Ebay was quite competitive alll priced in pounds but shipped from US (One had shipping cost of £242!). Has anyone heard of Bonanza.co.uk who are advertising various sets mostly from a company called Jaycompannes at about £400 with 25% discount and free shipping. Is this a case of: "if it sounds too good to be true..."?

Hoping for a little more stability at higher speed. Will barely do 60 mph before it get's too scary. Also like a smoother landing when riding even in a small chop. It's usually just me in the boat so with a corkscrew effect as well, it gets pretty Uncomfortable.

I'd be looking at play in your steering and engine bushes for the scary at 60 bit.

Thanks Burty, I Put hydraulic steering on last summer, and the engine has only done 110 hours, I have always thought that it is partly down to it being just me in the boat causing a bit of unbalance. It is worse since I changed from 200 blackmax to an opti and assumed that the excess weight higher up was partly to blame. Thanks for the advice, I'll def check steering and bushes .... but still going for the tabs as we'll :-)

... r21 with hp200 is stable like a heavy pig trough, probably wrong setup and prop

Just at the top end, on full revs. Running a 23p laser II. Engine is running with an offset, but never measured how much.
Someone else has suggested it might be set-up.

I'd definitely be looking at set up and slop in steering and motor mounts before trying tabs.
