xr2

Hi, managed to get my hands on an older xr2 as a donor lump, on stripping it down I've noticed that the con rods on the older motor seem beefier, they are hardly touched castings whereas the newer motor has had them ground down a bit. They're obviously a bit lighter but I'd rather go with the bigger ones, is that gonna be a problem or are the ground down con rods customised? I'm pretty sure it used to be a race motor. ps. the serial no.s on the side of the rods are the same.
