Mine was jetted up 2 sizes and had exhaust relief (offshore mid, not standard for that motor).
I fitted a plate and went up one more size (3 sizes in total) and I definatly noticed more RPM. I used to hit 6600 in the sea with it trimmed out and 6750 on one occasion up a river with the wind behind me. Now I can hit 6600 easy in the sea without trimmed level. Trim it out to where I normally run and I see 6800 to 6900. Trimed right out and I've seen 7200 but I never trimmed it out that much before. so I reckon I've gained a good 200rpm maybe a bit more.
The general consensus on scream and fly is to jet up 0.004 from where you were with the airbox on. This is due to the extra airflow afforded by the stacks/plate over the airbox. So more air and fuel must mean more power I guess. They also seem to think it gains a few hundred rpm and my experiance seems to vairify this.
I shouldn't think the stacks and jets will cost you that much so all I can say is try it and see. Jets will allways be usefull if you ever do other mods like increase compression and the stacks look cool wether they work or not!!! And just think if the jets and stacks do nothing for performance you havn't wasted any money on buying the wrong jets cus the smaller 68's and leaving the airbox on would have made even less of a difference!!!
