XR2 jets

Hi all,
Soon gonna be running in my XR2 after putting new pistons & rings in. Is it safe to do so with the existing jets in or should I install original spec running in jets?
Don't wanna see all my hard work turn into pig iron!

Hi.

Depending on witch model XR2 you have, there are two main types of carbs.

One lists the 0.68 as running jet and .072 as break in.(pumper carb.)

The other model carb(non pumper) lists the .080 as running jet and cant find the break in jet... hope this helps.

How do I tell?

Many thanks,
No idea what's on it to be honest! Is there a difference in appearance between the two types of carb?

Yes there is...

The older pumpercarb has a couple of "lines" cast into the top of the carb, and has only one float, making it a little more compact. (.068)

The newer carb has a plate on top, type gold of color with two yellow bleed lines coming out of it, this carb also has two floats in it.. (.080)
