think iv found prob,,adaptor plate has 2 very big dump holes in it so pressure has no chance 2 build up,
looking for a one piece 2l adaptor plate if any one can help

did think 2 weld them up then re drill smaller ones in, going 2 av a look round 4 a 2l one if no joy welder will b out

Use 2 SS nuts and boltsto block the holes and re- drill 2 corect sized holes
What you have to be carefull of if you reduce the flow too much and alter the position through the plate, is that you don't melt the water pump.

While it's apart it's a small job to 'dry stack' it. Block off all the holes fit 2 pipes about 8 mm down to just above the pump and crinp the ends so they form a spray. A 1mm hole in each pipe spraying the outside of the tuner and it's done

hmmm intresting thread this..ive just replaced pump in my XR2 because i only had 7psi at WOT and hey presto still 7psi plenty of water out the piss pipes with no over heating issues but just cant get the pressure up,gauge been checked and all ok.my motor is the above water zorst with the low water pick-ups

Changed the CLE for the standard box this afternoon, ran engine on the muffs, gauge shows WATER PRESSURE (just over 1psi at tick-over) warm tell-tale.
Changed back to the CLE, piped up the 2 low water pick-up points, ran at tick-over, gauge hardly moves, hot strong tell-tale.

Is this normal with a CLE?

The 1 PSI pressure is probably coming from the hosepipe, the muffs providing a reasonable seal. Whereas if you are just putting 2 loose pipes into the cle holes you won't be providing a good seal to realise the pressure from the hose.

Sorry to bring such a old post up, but I'm on with the same thing on my XR2 and two plate tuner, its dumping too much water so need to seal the triangle water dump up, just wondering if you need to re-drill a smaller hole in to avoid melting the water pump?

I once replaced an impeller and forgot there was still a rubber on the tube (going into the mid). I placed a new rubber on the impellerhousing so there were 2. The PSI was very low and the engine was running hot!!
