Yamaha 300 Problems

Has anybody here had any problems with Yamaha's 300 units runining top pistons,
I've got the chance of a choice of two, both just over 1 year old, off seperate boats same problem?
They are cheap but not worth sorting if there is a issue with these motors! as they will do the same again.
I know they run off on two cylinders when in idle as standard.

They will have several problems ,just like the 250 HPDI.

Do a search at Screamandfly ,there is a load of info about these engine,s there.

On the Ribnet forum it seems this model uses a secret ingredient in the material of the pistons (chocolate) on the engines i have seen only seems to be the top two pistons!
