Yamaha V4 Hot up tips

I am currently setting up a 14'6" tunnel deck circuit race boat and am going to build a 130 Yamaha. Just wondering if anyone has any hot up tips for these motors as I am in Australia and good bits are hard to find.
Any help would be appreciated.

We have been using these for many years in OCR !! Unfortunately we are unable to modify, only Blueprint and this gives very little improvement !! We run them on 18 to 20ft monohulls with a min weight of 525kg. Our current speed record is 70mph, so i would suggest that for your 14'6 tunnel you should maybe begin with a standard motor and a 26" High Performance Yam Prop.

Do let us know how it goes !!

Bob

Thanks for the reply. The boat I need to beat is the same hull but open cockpit and it does 75MPH with a 26P Laser2. Because it is not a tunnel deck it measures 15'4". The class we are running is 1800cc s/sport so we can modify stuff. Just need some specs to work to. Are you allowed to remove the rev limiter and if so what revs do think are safe for one of engines?
I am a V6 Mercury man but the Yamaha is free and will suit the boat as it is too short in our rules for anything bigger than 1800cc. I have run an open cockpit version of the hull with a TwisterII at appox 85Mph and have seen one run with a 2.4 at 92Mph.

No problem with rev limiter !! email to bob@ocrda.freeserve.co.uk if you need to know how (its very simple) we have run to approx 6600rpm but would be happy upto about 7k. I think high 70's should be relatively easy with the small light tunnel you have.

Good Luck

Bob

Just thought I would let you see the hull I am using. Not sure of the weight but two people can lift it. I know about the limiter and have found some heads in U.S.A. I will also fit carbon fibre reeds but would still like to do some porting
PS.Had trouble logining in so rejoined

Thanks

Thanks for the offer but as I work at a Yamaha wrecker I have all the parts I need I just need to know what modifications I can do.
We run a 2000cc super sport class which is only restricted by capacity. Unfortunatly the boat I have is also governed by a lenght rule so max cc on this hull is 1800.
