Marinautic have a complete engine with one damaged piston, that I believe is available for the right money (whole motor for about a grand, so you get all the other ancilliaries & spares to boot) which I reckon is good value.

Marinautic in Poole have a s/h motor for sale, it has done a piston, but I believe the block, crank etc are ok.

Ask for Gareth on 01202 678085

Thanks for the help
Have spoken to them and yes they do have one sitting there stripped just going to wait until my mechanic has stripped mine all out and make my mind up best way to go. But looks like I will take it for spares.
Many thanks for your help. What a great start for 2009

To have the spare block & rods etc, would be worth it, not to mention the turbo, starter, injector pump, injectors and so on.

If I was running Yanmars, I'd be having it as a 'just in case' insurance policy.

Just want to say thank you guys to Tony Davis and John Fuller,
I spoke to Gareth at Marinautic's then went to see him on Saturday and ended up having a deal with him on the Yanmar 6LP, (great guy very helpfull and pleasent). So will be starting rebuild on my engine next week and back on the water very soon. (Now got lots of extra spares parts just incase.) Again big thanks for your help and advice.
