Hello from a P21 newbie!

Hi everyone!

Picked up my first Phantom 21 last weekend. My dad used to own a Steve Baker P18 when he was in his twenties and I decided that it would be rude not to get one for myself. It's a 2008 Cobra Ribs phantom which was originally owned by one of the company directors as a demo model. I purchased it from the second owner who has owned it for the last 6/7 years and took it out for the first time down in Southampton on Saturday. It has a Mercury Opti 225 on the back which performs flawlessly! Foot throttle takes a bit of getting used to but must admit it's a serious bit of kit! Also has a bow tank, Garmin GPS and a fusion sound system which has seen better days.

Had my first experience of completely swamping the boat when I hit wake at 50mph so think I need to work on trimming the boat better before going crazy on the speed front from now on!

The boat is as you would expect from a heavily used P21 and is in significant need of some TLC. I've already spoken to Rob from Sandbanks marine to get the seats tidied up and also have a contact who is able to repair some of the damage to the gel coat. The boat is going in for a full service next week and I'll be using her down in Salcombe for the first week of August if anyone else is down there!

Regardless of her faults... I'm still absolutely thrilled to own a phantom and look forward to restoring her!
