Ring cat 22, advice needed

I have recently purchased a ring cat 22, she looks amazing but I was trying to find out any history about her.
Also she cavitates when accelerating hard from a standing start and top end is only 55knots roughly. She is running a 225 optimax and a 23" stainless prop. Any advice on any of the above would be much appreciated.

What prop are you using? I found through hubs blew out pretty bad on takeoff on my cat.
What engine height are you at? Propshaft to hull bottoms..
And have you a low water pickup?

Ring Cat

Hi,
I used to own that Ringcat, I sold it to a guy in Plymouth, it then came to Poole and I have seen you in Christchurch in it. (My Portofino is in the back of the picture at Elkins).
I have all sorts of information on the boat.
Simon.

I had the boat for about 4 years from new

I had a Suzuki DF300 and then a Verado 300 on it

We never used to see over 55 knts so with a 225 you are doing really well, the boat was really not designed for a high top speed but for for good sea keeping in rough water, this is due to the fact that the tunnel is not very wide

You have to feed the power in slowly which is common on cats

This boat is very heavy as it has been strengthened for commercial use. She has had alot of work done on the inside and the underside of the hull as it started to delaminate and all the spray rails had to be ground out as they had air pockets behind them

A video of her can be found [URL="https://vimeo.com/28047607"]

Running a 23 pitch prop and is running at 9 inches from prop shaft to hull. Cavitation plate is 15mm below hull.
