3.4

if anyone can help I'm trying to find electrical parts to put my motor back to running (Stator/Switch boxes/volt reg) it was running great and then stop. Giving the age and that it hasn't required anything to this point other than water pumps and tune up i want to replace all the electrical parts so in have it all new then hopefully no more run issues. I,m also interested in selling to but not parting out. complete motor w/Prop no controls. either way thanks for any and all help Brad.

Hello,
if the serial number of your engine is between this 5611648 & Up (USA), then for your stator replacement you can by this one as a good after market possibility.
--------------------------------------
SATOR
The original reference for your engine is=
OEM Part 398-5454A55 - STATOR ASSY O NLA
but no longer available.
So you can easily swap this reference by this one,
CDI Electronics
174-5456-16 - Stator, 398-5454A32, A35

or this one
CDI Electronics
174-5456 - Stator, 6 Cylinder, 398-5454A2, A55

You've to check which model your engine use because one is a 9amp the other is a 16amp.
-------------------------------------
for the voltage rectifier =
your reference is=62351A 2 - 62351A 2 - RECTIFIER ASSEMBL O
BUT NLA too!
So you can swap to this one
CDI ELECTRONICS
154-6770 - Rectifier
------------------------------------
for the voltage regulator of fitted on your engine
CDI electronics
193-5114 - Rectifier Regulator Regulated Unit
------------------------------------
for the switch box your reference is
332-7778A 3 - 332-7778A 3 - SWITCHBOX ASSEMBL O
NLA too!
superseed by
MERCURY
332-7778A12 - Switch Box Assembly

Or swap by this reference
CDI ELECTRONICS
114-7778 - Switch Box, 332-7778A3, 12, 14
------------------------------------
to find the nearest distributor
Find a Distributor | CDI Electronics
----------------------------------
better for you to buy CDI components in term of prices and avaibilities for all parts you're looking for.
good luck

thank you

i bought this motor from a man doing a re-power and the serial tag had corroded to where i can't make out the information on it. the voltage regulator is a big square one that is water cooled and located in the exhaust plate between the heads. is there a way to get around having to use this type of regulator because the price of that one is around $480.00 us. Is there any other way to tell exactly what i have other than it just says Coswortrh ltd England on the block and the cowling says Mercury 275 thank you Brad

3.4 mercury corsworth carbs

I've found a serial number for a similar engine year 1991 3.4 liter cosworth 275hp
250/275 - 0C101891 AND UP
and if you have this part number engraved onto your block that's the one.
880-9550A33

So, now I can be more accurate
3.4 mercury corsworth carbs

--------------------------------------
STATOR
The original reference for your engine is=
398-5454A64 - STATOR ASSEMBLY O NLA
but no longer available.
So you can easily swap this reference by this one,
CDI Electronics
174-5456-16 - Stator, 398-5454A32, A35
your engine is a 16amp alternator per the serial nuber of year 1991
but before any part order, can you tell me if your stator is attached with 4 ou 5 bolts? this is important because the regulator is different when 5bolts are used to install it. My references stator and regulator are for 4 bolts, but per your explanations seems to be a stator using 4 bolts
--------------------------------------
rectifier = if used on your engine
your reference is=62351A 2 - 62351A 2 - RECTIFIER ASSEMBLY
BUT NLA too!
So you can swap to this one
CDI ELECTRONICS
154-6770 - Rectifier
------------------------------------
for the voltage regulator of fitted on your engine (water cooled)
CDI electronics
194-1873 - Regulator, 18736A21 (price 482usd) cannot find better price

or one used is available on ebay now
and some new at a fair price
type this on ebay=
194-1873 - Regulator
and you'll find some good price

------------------------------------
for the switch box your reference is
332-7778A 12 - SWITCHBOX ASSEMBLY
NLA too!
