I would certainly like to see a continuation of what we were racing last year. We put a lot of time and effort into racing in the UK last year, had an absolute ball and met some great people. Looking forward to doing it again this year and hopefully bringing one or two others with us.

It is more likely 3A than 3B albeit there is the ability to crossover. 4 solid entries that we know of.

V24 you know about from OP.

UKfforc 150 is intending running as I understand it.

OCR / Club class I'll leave others to comment on.

I'll try to answer as best as my understanding is at the moment.

At a national level then you have V24, 3, UKfforc, OCR, P1, Zapcat, Thundercat and Marathon.

GPA may be awarded a national championship based on a handicap system to be submitted.

At club level I believe you can run whatever classes you see fit subject to approval of race instructions etc.

I didn't think OCR got "National" status ? thus had to go "Nations" ......

I think OCR just carries it's national class status over. Whether there are any OCR boats left to run as a class is not clear.

Nations cup or whatever the latest incarnation is another matter entirely.

My understanding is BCC wasn't owned or run by any single club as some may think, it was an attempt to standardise club racing in order to give a national championship. As long as any organisation puts it's own interpretation on it then it falls down.

Same would happen with say Class 3 if one club decided to start running it in a vastly differing format from another.

There's nothing stopping 2 ltrs running as a club championship as far as I can tell.

That would be somewhat pointless as they are UIM classes ...

I think you're right there Bob, although I understood the main objection to be the National bit. You would know of course as you were at the ORC not me.

Am I right in saying that it was to distinguish national racing with it's clearly defined classes from club racing?

OCR is still A National Class but as it stands only the existing A & B what we aimed to to was to differentiate between us and Class 3 A & B
And to include the enthusiasts still running XR2 and up to 200hp
These will now continue to run as Basic but will still be eligible for the good Prizes.

As said before if anyone wants more info please get in touch for the true facts !
and get your boats ready for Round 1 of the NRC at Torquay.

.
if you dont have a replacement for bcc then at national event you will only have a max of 6 national entrys as the classes you have quoted dont come to our offshore races they put on their own events, and as i have previously been involved in trying to cover clubs costs then that amount of entrys will not cover clubs running costs
