2007 Basic Races...only 4?

Am I missing something, but this years race calender only shows 4 basic races. I thought after a fantastic turnout at the Brass Monkey, clubs would be bending over backwards to bring other people into the sport. Why are ORDA not running any Basic races at their meets this year.

I know for a fact that MAREX will not be spending the entire summer in the Med as his wife has spoken. So from mid June I am sure Marex would be up for any Basic races.

Come on Clubs lets get our act together and offer more Basic races.

The Hotboats racing Association are running basic races 2 at Burryport 12 / 13 may race sat and sunday 2 at blackpool 16 / 17 June race sat and sunday 2 at Pwllheli 21 / 22 July race sat and sunday all are welcome.

Dont forget the planned basic race in Teignmouth on the 28th May that is being held by OCRDA alongside our national races.Its Bank Holiday weekend so we would love to see as many BoatMad members as possible.Fi

Most of the racers will be in Guernsey that weekend. What is the current maximum HP for OCR basic races, is it still 1800cc (dirty)? Cos that could also have a bearing on who is eligible.

Hello Ian my darling,I have asked Bob to give you an answer to the question you asked as i'm not sure about the engine size,all i know is that we asked about running an unlimited basic but as yet i dont know the outcome.Hope you and Rowe are keeping well and good luck in Guernsey
