Thanks.

I just found out that the ferry cant carry my truck, due to its weight, and that the 'truck ferry' from Portsmouth costs £1200!

My other car is a SMART.

So it looks like fitting a towbar to the Smart then!

Honda send there boats out on the freight sailings but trailers only. I saw a batch of them in St Peter Port last year.

I think there's a deal in hand by the organisers with the ferry Co.

If it helps, your welcome to use my truck!

Infact, we could swap vehicles for the weekend, and I could see whether my finely honed body will fit in a Smart.

Perfect. I was going to suggest a borrow of a pickup or 4wd for Guernsey. Looks like TD has come up with the solution.

Nice truck.....

I am now interested in building a tow bar for the smart anyway! If it is going to be a pit car, it should have a tow bar...

I have some thoughts, and I will visit my favourite steel manufacturers in the Hamble and chat to them!

Accomodation

Well I have been lurking here reading with interest regarding the Guernsey race. I tried to access the ORDA site only to find it down, I wanted to find out the race times!

Well having lived here for 5 years, I now say I know the place pretty well. There are no hotels (to speak of in St Sampson)I would really recomend that you stay in Town (St Peter Port). I would be happy to help if anyone needs some guidance.

I will speak to the a friend and hotellier tomorrow to see what availability there is on rooms at his place if there is any interest.

Hayden.

You need to visit Beauleau Boat Jumble, as there's a guy who always has a pitch there with a Smart car and trailer!

Are you taking the piss?

I was told - by SMART - that officially the Smart has a ZERO tow rating and it was thus illegal to manufacture a tow bar for it!

Where is Beauleau? When is the Boat Jumble?
