On behalf of ORDA, (Brian , Pat, Shirley me and Cliff), it was great to see some new faces and indeed one or two of the old ones. Thanks to all the crews for their patience during launch and recovery, and to Cookee for taking on the commentary at extremely short notice.
I'm told the start and the race was good to watch, we actually finished for the first time in 3 races and not too far off the pace (V-8).
Great to see the Midas out and nice to meet Nic and Chris for the first time, I hope you will all return
Congrats to Lance and little Pete....

I'm off to Finland with Old Beardy next week, we'll keep you posted if we can, while we are there.

Great respect to A19 Jeremy Gibson with an average speed of 57.41 mph on a boat that probably tops out at 65 mph.I did manage to keep up with you for a while but I suppose going out to muster has no real credability.Well done-great drive.Nic

It certainly paints a picture of a 100mph battle won (again) and misses the bit where a novice driver in a Yam 90 powered boat lapped them.... twice.

The power of the press eh. Still, Good for Jay Smith I suppose, and I've no doubt the engine is sweet.

Just post the results .pdf on S&F

300hp 27' cat 35mph average, 90hp 22' mono, 42mph average.

I doubt Jay would shout about that.

Actually, everyone has off /slow days, and not everyone can be winners, but it's a bit gauling to read stuff like 'I was clinging on for grim death' & 'It went well, i should know, I was the Co driver'. talk about lapping up the perceived glory. It does an injustice to those, like for example Ashleigh, who have done very well indeed, and isn't gobbing off anywhere about it.

Yes I know, I quoted Ashleigh's speed because she's a novice, in the lowest powered boat in the fleet and I thought it was a good comparison and all things considered (only an old 90) a great result.

She, and others that are clearly working hard at improving their game should in my opinion be getting shed loads of praise and encouragement. But with the likes of Martin Warren showering themselves with praise and adulation, those up & coming racers are wrongly overshadowed.

It seems that I'm Mr Hedges No 1 suspect as 'Hasbeen'.

2+2=17

I have to laugh, because until the thread last week that so upset Blufin, I didn't even know his fathers name was Terry. Not surprising really when you consider that before Blufin joined the forum, I'd never heard of him either...oh well.

Not a lot really, one 'Hasbeen' joined Scream & Fly, though I doubt it was the same Hasbeen that resides here, and took a couple of shots at the thread.

Mr Hedges responded, clearly making the assumption that 'Hasbeen' (I assume in both cases, there, and here) was in fact me. (this is not the case)

He also waxed lyrical about the disagreement between Jay Smith and I over trade membership of BM. some of what he said was right, but most wasn't. Or at least I don't think it was.

I informed him of his wrong assumption.

Then Jay Smith popped up and claimed that I'd tried to extract $750 from him for trade membership of BM. This is also untrue, so I gave them a link to the std advertising page here, showing the costs at $400 (£250) for trade membership including a banner and $80 (£50) for basic trade membership. These are the std trade member costs.

Shortly after that the thread went AWOL.

I then traded a few PM's with Jay, they were initially quite frosty (on his part), but ended up quite civilized & friendly.

For the record and contrary to the belief of some, I am not forum member 'Hasbeen' and am nothing to do with that member, though I do find him hilarious, just as I do 'The Garfish'. (also sadly not me)

I think Mr Hedges is a little paranoid.
