Nah gotta be depleted uranium
Due to its high density, about twice that of lead.
The military uses DU for defensive armour plate so could adapt to Honda otherwise use it in balance applications on LCJ (sorry Large Commercial Jets).
Edit: blinding when fired with a catapult or with a high pressure air source ... so I'm told

I can't wait for Cowes-Torquay
Either everyone will sink before Portland, or the sea will be radioactive for years

I did cross my fingers Extreme boat would run in the BM to give the Skater a fright but sadly not to be so, however I still enjoyed the event and 3 boats in particular I thought stood out for me Adams rib the Honda and the V24 series boat...Like someone else mentioned a few seemed to struggle with set up/power issues along with the Buzzi rib but still a great to all that took part

With all that weight gone (1,200kg) ... wrong props and wrong gear ratios!
Going to have another play this weekend with bigger props

Ahh I had wrongly assumed that you may have fettled the props by a few inch (although Having never owned a £2500 prop I am unsure how much pith can be increased by) and gained a few more revs in order to gain 7-10mph...should of known that with Extemeboat's always immaculate attention to detail and rigging this would not suffice
PS... Would it be to nosy to inquire if there are any plans to race in any other category in the near future as in RB and C-T-C

You can't really work these props too much and certainly not by more than 1" of pitch or so, so expensively, you have to keep a range of them available.
Will let you know how we get on.
Very Nosey Seriously tho ... no plans for RB. We'll have to see on C-T-C

I f you wouldn't mind sharing with us what was the top end speed with the weight in and when the weight was out with same props i guess what happened next.
The reason i ask is in RB8 we are running with approx 1500 kg of fuel at the beginning of a long leg i wondered what increase if any we would get toward the finish.
If the boat was finished i wouldn't have to ask the question...........

It's not really that simple as we chose the gear ratios based on the weight.
By taking the weight out, what I will really notice is the accelaration being much better, but equally we'll hit the rev limiters sooner and thus the need to change props and gear ratios.
It's all a tradeoff and as Chris says ... that's testing
As an example, for Portugal we added 500kg of weight, changed the boat setup, and the boat ran faster than before we added the weight!!
At a guess, without changing anything else, you might see a speed difference of 2-3mph with that weight, but this can always be compensated for by changing your setup... this assumes a similar boat weight and power to ours of course .. yours may be different!
