just to add to that helmets have to be 75% orange and i believe you need an electric bilge and a hand bilge aka a bucket of some description.

couple of ammendments.....

Basic Race Equipment:

Boat Number (needs to be a certain size as in PB1)
Towing Eye
Painter
Anchor and line
Compasses (1 only needed)
Fire Extinguishers (2kg or 2 x 1kg)
Engine Cut-off Switch ( 2 kill cords from 1 switch)
Bilge Pump(MANUAL)
Buoyancy (if no built in bouyancy, inflatable air bags need fitting)
Whistle, compress, Knife ( 1 of each per person)
Orange Smoke Flares (?? i didnt need these...)
Mini Flares ( 1 pack per person)
Paddles
Orange Retirement Flag (make your own, sizes in PB1)
Crash Helmets
Race Vests (with groin straps and shoulder loops)
Protetive Clothing (race suit or similar)
Hard Hats (only if you are craning in)

Yes Wacky we go every year, just for a jolly up. Watch the race then go to the RMYC at Poole for a couple , then back to Bournemouth and b and b it for the night wit a couple more Stella's thrown in just in case! You fancy it? Dont bring Mayers though he's a bad influence
