I will contact local papers to see if they want any pics to promote race.

Nice one Dave, anything to help rev up a bit more interest would be good.

Its a great event and one of our longest running continual powerboat events now.

Also for a very good cause and it must have raised a lot of money over the years. I don't think the sport / club gets enough credit for this really.

Would be good to see more publicity from the clubs, local councils and perhaps the Cancer Charities theirselves.

It just seems to be one of those things that is taken for granted - whereas it should be applauded much more

Kinell, I don't know whether to be pleased or upset for some strange reason I thought last years CR was cancelled so I checked back and found a brief write up of last years event to jog my memory (going senile already) ... by myself and rather good even if I do say so

And Sidey can you do the same this year with somewhat less horses and length

Sidey you have to pass 5 v24 this time dont leave it till the last lap

So shall we have a shortlist of who's entered and what?

I'm sending of paperwork tomorrow. Myself and Tom Chilton (Btcc Ford driver) will be hopefully drumming up some local PR for the event and most prob entering Pascoe 10meter or Revenger 29, both running twin 300 mercs.

Contacting radio stations and press over next few days once entry is confirmed.

Can anyone tell me where it would be best to watch race from.

Thanks

Claire

If I didn't watch by boat I used to watch from the pier, however personally I have found the Harbour lights pub balcony a good place for a spectator even though you are set back from the action compared to the pier

PS ... I read in the Local Echo the whole building is coming down so not sure when they finish trading hopefully not yet
