This thread was started 03 11 04, its taken 15 days to find out whats happening, and we end up getting the information second hand from Finland.

It just goes to show how out of touch our national authority are.

Wecome Marcus and thanks for the info.

Hi guys and thanks for the warm welcome.
As far as the information about capetown RYA was also on the long mailing list but their information to you seem to suck...

I found the following information on the Norwegian federation site;

Kalender 2005

CLASS II NO CHAMPIONSHIP

PRO VEE NO CHAMPIONSHIP

CLASS III - 6 Litre Italy

CLASS III - 4 Litre Italy medio sept

V24 NO CHAMPIONSHIP

CLASS III - 2 Litre SOUTH AFRICA February 2005
(requests from Italy and UK)

CLASS III - 1.3 Litre SOUTH AFRICA February 2005
(requests from UK and Sweden)

so it looks that U.k have been interested in organising the championship for 2 litre as well with Italy.
My bet would be anyway that we find ourselves somewhere in Italy in middle of september,it is allmost a tradition
How they allways manage to get somekind of a championship I don`t know. This is anyway just my guess.

Chris
It is not impossible for us to come to U.K either.Anyway travelling to U.K is much more expensive for us than going for ex. to Italy. They don`t have the entry fee and do even pay somekind of travel money as you know.
Last time and ( only time so far) we were in U.k racing was in 2000 E.C in Cowes.Entryfee had to be paid and there was no travelmoney. It was impossible to discuss the entryfee even that there wouldn`t have been any championship without us because we were the only foreign participant in 2 litre.
Anyway if the championship will be organised in U.K the organiser should give this a big thought. It might play a big role to get foreign participants.

I was under the impression that in order to host a world championship event, the organisers had to (with regard to foreign competitors) offer either free entry or subsidised travel.

Feel sorry for the South Africans - no doubt they had put a lot of effort into arranging the event. But very difficult when they have virtually no fleets theirselves.

Anyway - really looking forward to doing the Worlds in Europe - Italy or the UK. Lets hope for a fantastic event with a great entry of teams.

CB1,

you've at least got a Norwegian boat here as well. (Well, that's until I wreck the new one).

You are aware that RYA does not have any members in Cominoff after the last election?
