you could class, class 3 six litre as the gp2 of boat racing, sort of like a feeder series for class1, like gp2 is for f1.

looks good as well

Why not bring it to Plymouth, the natural home of British powerboat racing ;-)

Jeepers did I miss the Plymouth race today? I was on the way home and I saw AA signs, like one of my bad frustration dreams when I can't quite get my race suit on in time and Nikki is pushing me to get to the boat and we only have 5 minutes to cover a journey of 20 miles and when we get to the boat we haven't put on the race fairing and then I can't find the key and then as the other boats head out for the start line, nikki is still in the loo and then when we get going they close the lock gate...

Now I know I was at Lewtrenchard Manor today ...wasn't I? (great restaurant by the way and thanks to B2B Magazine for the wonderful invitation to fine wine and food - despite of course I should be losing weight this month in time for the race in Torquay next week) and then..... I saw the signs....aghhhhh!!! I should have been at QAB and prepared and racing instead of wining and dining in the aforesaid (and wonderful) establishment. Then i thought pinch myself Dickie Boy! and drove to Manadon roundabout and the embankment and and and 'Honda Formula Four Stroke Powerboat Race 15/16th May'!!!! yellow signs everywhere!!!!

I know! Ha ha!! I'm in that parallel universe. I wasn't really at Lewtrenchard, I just raced in Plymouth and crashed and have just awoken. Can anyone tell me...how did nikki and I do in Torquay last month.

Oh heck! Now I'm really confused

They're coming to take me away aha! oho!

F4SA Plymouth Secret Event

How many raceboats in the special May event of the F4SA series. Hope not to many spectators to be disappointed.

Clearly I see you need a team manager so you know when to turn up.

Does Plymouth know when Honda are racing and does Honda and the AA know

Send a message via Skype™ to ciao!
This sounds good.

I would suspect that Rory Power is behind it?

Bring it on!

This looks brilliant!
What sort of speeds do they get up to? Are all the races in the Middle East?

There was 3 races involving class 3 6ltr screened on Sky a couple of years back from the UAE made good viewing, if I recall they said speeds were around 110+mph and I think their were a couple of UK teams racing such as the 6ltr canopied bat boat, although is not the WPPA a more recent organisation so perhaps they have changed the weight rules to make them even quicker...but racing in the UAE is nothing new JF has posted pic's of racing in 6ltr in one of the old 25' 3D cats he did some years back

In the 80's there was a fair number of 3D boats such as Neil Holmes raced and not just cats, however they also faded out over the years with most other UK classes with the lack of sponsors coming forward...would imagine Dubai being the place where it's all happening at the moment may prove an easier place to find sponsors although I think the majority of boats are probably self funded by wealthy individuals and their is no shortage of them in Dubai
