There should be a Phantom 19 on the water this morning with similar HP - should be interesting!

Nice one Bob, you deserve that after trying so hard!

You must have been turning some serious RPM! Awesome achievement to run 100mph in a ski boat

and the rest, i was at nearly 9k to do 90 with a 22' prop, isnt the rule 1 pitch equals 200 rpm?? to achieve 100mph that motor must have been around 400hp and 10500 rpm???

Depends on the slip I guess. spose he might be running very high indeed on the transom. and we don't know what ratio he's running either, could be a special.

I was assuming 1.87:1 gear ratio and around 12% slip, but could be way off.

9000 rpm divided by 1.87 gear ratio= 4813 prop rpm * 26 pitch = 125138 in/min divided by 1056 = 118.5 mph * 0.88 (12% slip educated guestimate) = 104.28 mph. so 'roughly' 9k

But as I say, could be way off as there's a few assumptions in there.

Yours works out as such:....

9000 rpm divided by 1.87 gear ratio= 4813 prop rpm * 22 pitch = 105882 in/min divided by 1056 = 100.26 mph * 0.88 (12% slip educated guestimate) = 88.23 mph

The *divided by 1056* bit is the magic formula to convert inches per minute in to miles per hour.

100mph

Well done Bob that is certainly shifting.
What is the new F2 hull like to drive?
I have seen the first boat built (yellow one at worlds).
Does the rear spoiler make much difference at the higher speeds?

That is really moving congrats to you and you son.

Cheers
Cye

A couple of facts to stop you guessing.

New speed this morning is now
102.377 South
103.658 North
103.02 Average

9100 RPM 2:1 Sportmaster !! New F2 is awesome as expected running 103 all the way through run could have let go of the steering wheel !! Absolutely faultless.

Many thanks for all your positive comments.

Bob
