Is there a record for a 14ft Picton with a 50hp?
Or the "how much you can wish you had a boat to take to Conniston record!"?

C-12 Will be there for the week as will be C-27 will both be going for the national and world 3c record. Dont think that we will be capable of beating the 97.8mph set with an xr2, but that has been frozen so the new epa record is available.

I may be wrong but the late Peter Lee might have been faster in his P18.

I was under the impression RHINO established the record for the epa last year. So you actually have to beat an established record, not just set one.

I had issues with the boat again this year - After the first run to set the gate marks on the GPS and lay out the run, we could not restart the boat, due to a starter motor failure. This required a starter motor from Portsmouth ( thank you Geoff for bringing it and installing it in the boat )

Unfortunately we had had some engine issues on our trial run, which I could not figure out, so I took Geoff out for a run and discovered that my props were causing the engine to hit the rev limiter at 77.1 mph exactly ( 5050 RPM ), and my other set was in London, and it was Thursday, so no chance to get things sorted, we packed up and went home.

Interestingly for us we did manage to beat Ricky Hills record in that single test run by a mile, averaging 76.53mph (that was 76.242 down and 76.791 return). Every time we hit the rev limiter we dropped over a mile in speed.

I attempted to add some cupping to the prop with a hammer and the tow hitch, but the whole boat shook too much when we tested it, so dropped that idea.
