Won't it sink if you put it in North Basin?

Probably not enough room in the pits due to the volume of boats entering and you have now upset the B&B owners on the island

Dear Rhino,
In order to make the race possible we had to reduce costs.
One of these costs is the hardstanding at Cowes Yacht Haven.
In the past we have been charged north of £20,000 paid in advance for the North Basin and the hardstanding....so with only 15 boats in the main race you can work out the maths...
We have made significant cost savings, and we are the ONLY major race in the UK which is GUARANTEED to happen as I am personally underwriting it should the income not cover the expendidture.....,which I cant see anyone else stepping up to the mark to help out.
I have been told by CYH that there is limited space in the marina on the hard standing and that I am to prepare a list of possible campers with their sizes so that the marina can tell me how many they can accommodate, and how much the charge will be so that I can pass it on to the owners of the campers.
So ANY potential race team owners, contact me or sally with your request for parking and we will let you know what CYH can do.
The Cowes Torquay Cowes is going to happen, and under its wing I am prepared to put another race on for the other classes, and want you all to have a great time.
If the negativity continues, and we don't get the entrants for CPC, then I will re-consider underwriting the event, and that will be that.

At last an answer I can relate to,our tow vehicle (camper) is 7.5 mtr long and have no problem paying to park, but keep trekking back and forth for race gear is a bit tiring, so if you can find a space then all systems are go

Dorien
I believe Eric wants a space for his horse box and portable dungeon.
You better speak to him about how he will be paying for it !!!
Good luck with everything.

Great last post Dozzer as it says it as it is and I guess that's what people want.
Also very generous of you to under right the event. (I always knew you were a smashing bloke) and to make the event happen.
Finally my comments are always full of bull and banter and never to be taken seriously. Oh apart from the above
Good luck to all those racing

OK lets get some numbers for the CPC race.
Please all of you email me at dcpgblast@aol.com with your entry form and contact details which I will pass on to Sally, and also a request for campers with dims and I will deal with the the marina directly, and sort out the cost.
We want to have a great race.
There is also a BBQ at the marina on Friday night at £18 per head, tickets available from us, let me know numbers and we can get you sorted. This is for ALL competitors, friends and family, safety boats friends and family, and all helpers and race officials.
It is likely that sat night will have some entertainment and a pig roast subject to enough numbers and sunday after prize giving there will be another BBQ, location tba.
Theoretically you have something happening all evenings to keep us all in the powerboat mood!

Dorrian, as well you know It is Stewart and my intention to be @ cowes for the CPC with Warlord, if the old girl isnt quite ready, then we have an alternative vessel.
Im just trying to iron out a few issues with our beloved RYA in respect to licences, it transpires that our decision not to invest £500 each per year for 4 years has come back to bite us!
I'll keep you informed over the coming days

For CPC you do not need full UIM Marathon licences, and some of you have rights from having previous licences to get an event licence , Sally can update you!

As I understand it, only an event licence is required. Excellent news for any potential entrant.
However, for me; that's the very issue I'm trying to sort with the RYA!

I think this is our last chance to kick start non marathon class powerboat racing in the uk this year.
If I know you are all oing to turn up I will support it.
I think we all like having fun in boats....that is all it is, so lets make it happen!
