Thanks for the thought but the problem has now been resolved thanks to a very generous young man from Boatmad and all will be revealed when you see the lanyards at Cowes. Absolutley brilliant result.

It’s gone very quiet on the Rules front... have they finally been decided upon and ratified yet?

I understand the requirement for a minimum of two Marathon Licence holders per boat is now not going to be the case (From Mike L) and I think there is a post on here to the same effect, is this what’s going to happen? the race being covered on an Event Licence?

An update would be a good idea - just to let us know what’s happening

I know everybody must have been working hard to progress the rules and thanks to all involved but it would be nice to know the situation

It's a little more complicated than that, you can buy an Event licence at £60 for each of the two Marathon races which could either be the Needles and Cowes or Cowes and the South Coast Marathon, but if you want to take part in all three then you will have to pay the full price to the RYA of £260.

Regarding the Marathon rules, they were ratified at the meeting of the ORC at the RYA last Wednesday with a small modification for Class 3 I understand. I will get clarification on that tomorrow as no one else seems to want to and post, otherwise it’s all a go. It’s only taken six months!!

I spoke to John Puddifoot requesting the latest wording regarding the Marathon rules this morning and was promised a confirmation email by this afternoon. So far no email so will chase first thing in the morning. Believe me I am just as frustrated about all this as everyone else as I have others who are wanting confirmation just like you.
