Cowes Torquay Cowes 2009
I don't know quite whats going on out there but the amount of NEW enquiries I am getting for the CTC in 2009 and Endurance racing in general is a little startling. Some of it might be a load of bull but there appears to be quite a few new boats being built specially both over here and elsewhere. If all of this happens that threatens to happen then we are going to have an amazing fleet of very high quality boats. Fingers crossed, so where is this thing called a recession then?
Long live the Cowes Torquay Cowes!!

Cowes Update.
Just a quick update for the Cowes Powerboat Festival this year.
We have now agreed with the Honda and ORDA clubs that they can join us which is great of course so with any luck we should have in the region of 60/70 boats (including the sports boats) on the start line running down the Solent.
Hurst will be an interesting place to be to watch this year because the whole fleet will be running through there flat out having been released just before Lymington!!
I have also decided to allow cats to run in sports boat this year in the Cowes Poole Cowes LONG race (70miles) as there appear to be a few who want to run. That should please Tony Davies as I know he is just gasping to come out and race his cat.

Sounds like it's going to be a cracking event well done Mike - and TD getting the boat wet is always a an occasion to behold - wondered why Carl was polishing Tony's boat yesterday

I've hung me helmet up many years ago, but I'm always up for a poker run.

Safety Boats for Cowes
We are in desperate need for safety boats for the Cowes Torquay Cowes race and the Cowes Poole Cowes race in August.
We particularly need about ten boats between the Solent Bank Buoy near Lymington and the Hurst Narrows. We will also need about five Jet Ski’s there as well just for the start as we need to ensure Joe Public are not in that area as 70 boats run through.
We will also need about ten Safety Boats in Poole Bay for that particular race together with a couple of Mark Boats. Anyone who is interested in helping please PM me.
We have Torquay covered with the kind help of the Royal Torbay Yacht Club but we will need a boat off of Portland Bill. I was hoping that someone from the Lyme Regis Powerboat Club might help so if they see this message can they please get in touch with me.
For those who are prepared to help we can’t offer any money for fuel etc as we don’t have any, money that is, but we will be trying to put on a small party for all Safety Boat crews in Cowes and will also provide every boat with a suitable memento with our deepest appreciation.
Lastly, moorings in the North Basin in Cowes this year will be almost impossible, maybe room for about 6 Safety Boats but that's it as we have so many race boats to look after so its first come first served I'm afraid. There will be room in the South Basin however but we can't afford to pay for that unfortunately.
ML.
