I'm planning to buy my first crash helmet next week and I need some help
Will standard motorcycle helmet be good for racing?? Will it fit international/UIM rules?? I know that it have to be briht orange or yellow ( I will propably repaint it) but is that all??
I'm planning to buy motocross helmet cause I have tried couple of them and I found motocross helmets most comfortable
But I'm not sure will it fit UIM standards
Please help

Have a look at the RYA web site, & Penpromos post on here it lays down the current requirements for UK racing.
Obviously you are unlikley to find a BS but post a model when known & I will look up the BS.
I agree with you on xrossers I prefer them too

K4+ can supply ECD approved helmets already Orange so no need to re-paint.
They're about £140 I think but give Adam a call and he'll sort you out.
When my lad started racing 4 years ago we got him a Gecko type and that cost the same as a fully approved ECD22.05 which we got this year now he's started racing again. (he's only 12) so watch out......

I don't know about BS aprovall but it has ECE 22.05 certificate so it should be ok. What do yuo think??

22-05 would be fine, The amount of Sliver/Chrome & white on the base red might be an issue though & may need a paint over. If you a happy about getting rid of the visor do it as it,s a real wind break & bitch if you stuff it
See RYA PDF file here http://www.rya.org.uk/NR/rdonlyres/5...ETIN110406.pdf

That it good info
Thanks for help
One more question:
On the website there is written that all their helmets are ECE 22.05 but whan I was looking today at this helmet I couldn't find any iinfo about that anywhere on the helmet
Is that a big problem?? If I will buy it and go racing and someone will check that. Whats then?? How can I prove that this is ECE 22.05?? Whithout any sticker or something I will be disqualified

No your be OK if you can prove it, add, invoice ect letter from manufacture
I see they are 36 GBP on UK ebay
Edit: Weight is important try a use a lighter one if possible not seen any weights on the TNN. Shirt purchases can get difficult once above an 18" neck size
xrossers have a much more robust interior & fittings as they are designrd to be washed out & stand up better than the road variants.
I'm sure Gary or another reader can chip as to the accuracy, but you have the RYA rule pdf now
