Bit of a story re Cinzano at the end. They went the wrong side of the finish buoy but maybe that's for another day.

After some more clearing out I have given 5 or 6 Cowes/Torquay/Cowes videos from back in the 1980's to Dorian Griffith to put onto DVD's and then hopefully they can be loaded up onto YouTube. Most of these films you guys have never been seen before so are pretty rare. Once Dorian has got round to it they should provide some stunning visual memories - I hope!!

That's prompted me to get my finger out and post up on YouTube the "Official" film of that race in 2008 with voice over and music. I actually think this is one of the best films ever made of this great race but then I would wouldn't I!! Fabio win's in the fastest ever crossing (2hrs 20 mins and a bit) in the history of the race. One day that record will be beaten but not for for a while. I will post when I have put the film up.

Sure Steve, go ahead. Just heard from Fabio, he loved it, said he had never seen it before. Over the moon!!! He is now racing a gas turbine boat doing 180mph on a river somewhere. Crazy old man!

If he wasn't so tight he could of bought a copy of the dvd
and there is almost 15 seconds footage of us.
Actually chuffed you posted it as I lost my copy and apart from some facts that were wrong it's pretty good.

Mike, you deserved a medal for putting the 2008 C-T-C race on at such short notice, and there are a lot of people that really appreciated what you did!
Just to let you know that the 2015 Cowes Torquay Cowes is coming along well, with 9 paid up entries so far, with a lot more to come.
We also have the Cowes Poole Cowes race for Class 3A.3B,3C, V24 and Z150 and Club boats which will include Club Class 3 up to 115 horsepower, Club Class 2 115-200 hp, Club Class 3 201-350 hp and unlimited 351 hp and over! So we may get Phantoms racing with Historics, which will be a blast!
For the C-P-C race to go ahead we need plenty of entries before 1st August.
The C-T-C is however on and fully funded, with the Cowes Yacht Haven booked!
For further information visit Cowes Classic 2015 — Cowes Classic 2015 - 5th and 6th September 2015
Spread the word Mike, and maybe will we see you on an Apache?....

Thanks Dorian - all looks good. So many boats could come out for that CPC race, looks like anyone could take part.
Me, I'm for the quiet life now, moving down to deepest Cornwall but will be thinking of you guys having fun on the day.
